Johnny and June

With Valentine's day being right around the corner, Erica was inspired by one of the great musical love stories - Johnny Cash and June Carter. She created this window to celebrate the (Hallmark) holiday.

I love the double symbolism of the gold ring - wedding band, ring of fire...overall a great window Erica.

An insider's perspective

The ONE fashion show was held last weekend at Higher Ground. There were multiple stores from the Burlington area walking in it and also some independent fashion designers. In preparation for the show, the four models and I went to Sweet Lady Jane to try on our outfits. The outfits were by Free People, BB Dakota and French Connection. On the night of the show, we arrived early to get our hair and make-up done which looked amazing. I had a very rock n' roll look going with a big hair bump, lots of hairspray, and amazing dark purple shadow around my eyes. Before the show there was a lot of nervousness and excitement but overall it was a pretty laid back and fun fashion show. I had a great time and I think the adorable kids from the Boys and Girls club also had a wonderful time. The kids put together and designed their own outfits and walked them on the runway. Very creative kids. It was a great night and very successful.

Good night...

I had a great time at the ONE Fashion Show last night. Urban Dance Squad was amazing! I wish I could dance like that. Sweet Lady Jane was the first store to hit the runway and I thought they all did a great job. Thank you Jamie, Sera, Lola, Sam and Mica!!

Fourth Annual ONE Fashion Show

Mica: "I'm wearing some adorable, light blue destroyed skinny jeans from Free People. They fit me perfectly. On top I am wearing a Free People pale yellow ombre shimmer tank and a cute leather BB Dakota jacket. Over all the outfit is very rock n' roll and super comfy. I can't wait to walk down the runway in it!"

I know it seems like it may never come...

but spring will be here before we know it. Right?! Right?! We got in a little taste of spring this week. Here is a list of some of the things that arrived and how I would wear them now.

-denim cutoffs from Free People (you can wear them with tights or leggings)
-leather jackets from BB Dakota (layer them with a thin t-shirt and wear them inside)
-cute dresses from Free People (again tights or leggings with a slouchy sweater)
-trench coats from BB Dakota (okay these will have to wait for warmer weather)
-zodiac necklaces from David Aubrey
-basic ring necklaces (hint: Valentine's day) from By Boe

Isobel and Cleo

Oh you have to check this out! This is the web site of a former employee - Charlotte. Oh she is just amazing and I wish I had a pinkies worth of her creativity. My absolute favorite piece is the jacket the model is wearing. I LOVE it! (hint, hint, hint...)

The biggest Vermont snowstorm ever!

Well this snowfall was totally unexpected! I knew we were getting a storm but what a whopper! Sweet Lady Jane was open but we will be closing early.

I am off to New York tomorrow (hopefully) and will be looking for new spring and summer pieces. My top priority is jewelry - we are wiped out!

The resolution

(photo montage from a thing for...)

There is always so much pressure around the holidays and to top it all off, we are to a make decision on how we are to manage our behavior for the rest of the year! Ahhh - the dreaded New Year's Resolution. Well, I have been thinking about mine. Some of my most immediate thoughts are; go to the gym more often (everyone picks that one), be kinder, become a better listener, try to blog on a regular basis, and spend more time with my family. I would like to be more adventurous and more creative.

Here are a few things that I find inspirational on a daily basis...

-The Sartorialist
-Design Sponge
-A thing for...
-Oak

I would love to hear some of your inspirations and resolutions.

Happy New Year!
